A new global dataset of flood hazard maps is now available on GLoFAS!

A new  dataset of global-scale, high-resolution flood hazard maps has been developed using GLoFAS streamflow data and freely available global datasets. Especially in developing countries and data-scarce regions, these maps can be a valuable tool for local authorities and water managers to mitigate flood risk and reduce catastrophic impacts on population and assets.
The maps have been obtained at 30’’ resolution (~1km at the Equator) and for different return periods, based on the most recent advances in large scale flood modelling. The 1-in-100 year map is available for display on the GloFAS website and can be requested for research purposes.
